This is my lovely wife, Sarah. I was taking some shots in the rain when I realized the light behind her was creating a neat silhouette. I told her to light up a cig (even though I hate smoking) to add to it a little. After 5 or 6 failed attempts to capture it accurately, this one worked out!

I love the colors of the flame and how they slightly illuminate the smoke. This is definitely a spontaneous portrait photo.

This is a wonderful photo xD I loved how you positioned your light source. Personally I think it'll be better if there was less of the background on the left side, and more of the empty black on the right hand side, but that's just my opinon. Well done, you seem to have a gift for photography :D

You're too kind! I'm still a rookie, but I appreciate your flattery. I was actually shooting motion-blur of traffic when I noticed my girl looked pretty cool in front of that fluorescent light. Spontaneous portrait.

Yeah, it wasn't heavy rain - just drizzle. I had an umbrella above my equipment haha. I bet we looked ridiculous, but it was fun!
